The Decauched Domestic Diva, or Diva as she is fondly know in the blogosphere, as been around the online world for over two years, and we're just now getting around to reviewing her site. Sadly, she only posts a few times a month (4 in December, 8 in November, etc), but that's just because she's busy with Sex Worker Awareness, producing the sex blogger calendar and working with/for Carnal Nation. The post she does put up are about 50% news/links lists/events, with the other half being her thoughts, rants, and perfectly outspoken viewpoints. The site itself is easy to navigate, although I wish there was a list of categories. Another wish would be for an "about page," but again, the platform of blogger doesn't allow for that. Luckily for us, she's given a little mini-bio in her header. Interesting posts, good information...I just wish there was more of her to read!

N is the owner of this blog, and she is a self-described "queer femme bottom" burlesque performer in NYC. Her blog is a mix of sextoy reviews that she's done herself, roundups of other blogs, and the occasional entry that is more personal, about dating, sex, etc. I think a brand new reader like me might find it a bit confusing at first as to whether this is just a link roundup, or a blog because the last blog entry about N was back in December, so you have to scroll a bit to start to find the entries that ARE more personal. That said, I did enjoy the toy reviews that N posted, especially the toys that are less talked about, like the "Electrogasm". She posts fairly regularly, so you can get your Sequoia fix on a regular basis. Her site is a great asset to many communities and a worthwhile read.

This site just went through a major renovation and I've got to say, it looks awesome. Awesome design means little without great content but never fear, you'll find plenty of that on TheBeautifulKind.com. This kinky mom from the St. Louis area writes about her love life, offers up advice to those with sexuality questions and interviews others who are "the beautiful kind." I love the fact that TBK includes points of view from so many others in her work. If she's not personally experienced anal fisting (for example) she'll publish information from someone who has -- and if the chemistry is right, she might even try her hand at the new activity with the person who educated her. You can also ask her advice on the perennial question "Why am I not getting laid," read sex toy and book reviews, and explore "My First" narratives from TBK's readers. This may very well be the oddest site I've ever seen -- and I've seen a whole lot of odd websites. On AnonymousRealDollOwner.com, Mrs. ARDO writes of her life which includes the company of RealDolls. The RealDolls have their very own blog, wherein they discuss their various goings-on, parties, intrigues and the like. They Dolls comment on each others' entries and (wait for it) they even have their own Twitter accounts, where they all follow each other and talk amongst themselves. There's a section where site users can ask the Doll owner questions; all questions are posted on that page real-time as they are asked, then there is a blog to link to for the answers. Also find photo galleries (chest and upwards only, alas) as well as links to all manner of other RealDoll owner sites. Folks, this is dedication. This is devotion. Once upon a time and a long long time ago, an dude named Sam Sugar started a weekly sex-blog roundup called the Sugasm. Well, originally it was called the Bloggasm, but Mr. Sugar quickly realized that someone else had, alas, beaten him to that fine name. In any case, Sugasm ticked merrily along for 175 episodes, which is unprecedented for a link list of this nature. But then something strange happened. Mr. Sugar went missing. Where is he? No one has even a clue. But a new sex-blog linking mechanism quickly sprang up to fill the void. e[lust] accepts submissions about sexuality on a bi-weekly basis. Participants vote on the most popular pieces, then republish the entire list to their own blogs. This is a wonderful way for bloggers to get their work seen and read by others. It's especially useful for newer authors, who can get to know the e[lust] crew and gain some much-needed linkage from everyone else. As if that wasn't enough awesomeness, e[lust] is totally free and anyone who writes about sex can join. The Clothes That Got Me Laid is a blog powered by readers' submissions detailing their sexual exploits and -- most importantly -- the outfits responsible for encouraging those exploits. Since the tales are from a wide range of people, there's a wide range of voices and levels of story-telling expertise. You'll also find lots and lots of pictures of the clothes in question. I'm not much of a fashionista, but someone really into garments would no doubt enjoy the visuals. My only criticism of the site is that it's so hard for my old eyes not to bug out when reading tiny white (or orange) text on a black background. I know, I know...black is classy and sexy. But unfortunately it's not too kind on the peepers. Follow along on their Facebook page or submit your own story if you'd like. You're responsible for the getting laid part. It is pretty rare that I contact a site and ask to do a review, but this one just charmed the pants off of me! The site is fairly new, but the content is unique and real. In the words of the site owner, "Modern Hooker is a sex worker, sex worker rights activist, blogger, writer, cheap thrill seeker, and random comic." You'll find the web comic in the "smirk" section, and if you've ever worked in the sex industry I think it will give you some pretty big laughs. The real meat of the site is found in the new blog section, however. Modern Hooker has a very charismatic and whimsical style, but she also has a lot of powerful and insightful things to say. I was particularly interested in some of her observations regarding the recent influx of young women into the prostitution industry. Witty, lovable, sexy, and one of a kind. This particular blog hasn't been up and running for that long (since December 2008), but the content that is available is of good quality, and is quite interesting. The author,"LipstickLez," alternates with personal stories, weekly eye candy of queer celebs, and interesting news regarding the queer and lesbian communities. Overall, the posts are pretty short (sometimes too short!), making me wish she wrote a little more on each subject, although some of her definiton posts are wonderfully detailed. As far as function, I was a little frustrated with the choice to only have one post per page - I prefer to have five or ten to a page, so that I can scroll through and read. However, it's a very clean looking site, which I appreciate. She's got a quick and dirty "about" page, ways to contact her, and only one banner, with no advertisements, making her site fairly easy to navigate. I hadn't come across this particular lipstick lesbian before, and I'm excited to follow her as she continues her journey on this blog.

This blog is a really interesting mix of things. The writer is a young woman who fearlessly discusses some really touchy subjects (including polycystic ovarian syndrome, infertility, miscarriage, and marriage issues). She also puts together helpful little video reviews of sex toys for several online retailers. The reviews allow you to see the toy in action (although not in use), which helps to point out issues with noise and such in a much more concrete way. I love that! In addition to all this, the writer is also a former web Domme. She has a small section of the site that she devotes to describing that experience, and I find it fascinating. It is an authentic and unusual mixture of subject matter, and I find that to be refreshing. None of us are one dimensional beings! - Vamp

Amber has been running her site, Scarlet's Letter (not to be confused with the much longer-running, but no longer updated, webzine "ScarletLetters.com"), since December 2007. She averages around one update a week. The updates are usually fairly short; she generally either talks about a company that she likes or reviews a sex toy. As sex blogs go this one is relatively hum-drum; there are too many other sites out there that either post more comprehensive reviews or that flesh out their content with writing that isn't just about companies and toys. Don't get me wrong, it's a cute site and Amber seems nice, but there just isn't enough there to really make this site shine. - Shay

If you've got a thing for vampires' frightening charms, you've got to check out The Dark Angel: Erotica in a Jugular Vein. Devalia Quintessa is a Second Life player who records her sexy sanguine adventures in vivid detail. Get past the obligatory Blogger warning that it's an adult blog and inside you'll find very long accounts of Quintessa's midnight comings and goings. Right now there are only a handful of entries but each is as extensive as a month's worth of entries on many other sex blogs. Time will tell if this newish blog can keep up the pace of dark fantasies. Enjoy, but keep your neck covered. --aag

I've seen a few sex blogs using this layout on Wordpress and I have to say that I'm not really a fan - it kinda makes the posts seem to bleed together a little bit and makes commenting a pain, since you have to scroll back up the top to click the comment button after you've read to the bottom on an entry. Layout aside, The Naked Truth is Z's third blogging effort and it seems like she's getting the hang of it - updating at least around once a week. I'm not sure where she is keeping the rest of her archives, but the current site only goes back as far as Jan 2009. Z blogs about all aspects of her life, from her thoughts on sex toy design, to recounting snippets of her sex life, thoughts on being the other woman, or just talking about how much she hates having to wake up early. And like most college students, Wilhemina is in the midst of exploring her sexuality and identities. In an age where it seems as though "sex bloggers" have become a dime a dozen, Maybe Maimed but Never Harmed is a breath of fresh, intellectual, well-thought out air. MayMay is the writer of this site, and while it hasn't been updated as much recently, it is chock full of interesting news about a variety of events/news stories in the field of sexuality, thoughts and pondering about his own sexuality, and questions that have been asked to the internet community at large. Actually, one of my favorite things about this site is the discussion that occurs with all of MayMay's readers and commenters, turning the site into a forum of sorts at times. Our Rockstar Life is a personal sex blog run by Betty Rocket (and no, that's not her real name. But yes, she is real. Or so says her "About Me" page). This blog has been around just over a year, and seems to consist about 50% of toy reviews, 25% of HNT (and other picture) posts, and the last bit is made up of notes about her life, stories of sex with her and her partner(s) (she is part of the swinger lifestyle), and other little tidbits. I wish there'd been a bit more under the about me section, and maybe a blogroll page, and a "favorite posts" page, so I could get to know her a bit more. Also, there wasn't a list of categories, making the site a little difficult to navigate. However, the reviews were good and well thought out, and the pictures sexy and fun.
