Reid Mihalko is a California-based sex-educator and lifestyle coach and self-described "Sex and Relationship Role Model". I had the pleasure of meeting Reid and seeing him present at a conference in early 2012, and his style is absolutely engaging, funny, and accessible. He travels quite a lot, so if you visit his site you'll find a calendar with where you can find him next. From college groups to sex-ed conferences to tantric sex retreats, Reid is very involved in his mission, the #1 tenant of which is "Creating more self-esteem, self-confidence and sexual health for adults in and out of the bedroom." The website has descriptions of lectures, podcasts of interviews Reid has done, a section of recommended reading. Most of his seminars are webcast, so if you can't attend in person you can pay to view the webcast live and to re-watch it for 30 days after. The site has a ton of information to browse through, although most of the free articles were to be found only by clicking different topics in a tag cloud in the navigation menu.

If you are looking for a good old fashioned web forum to discuss swinging, then this is a wonderful choice! This is an incredibly active forum that discusses topics such as curiosity about swinging, situational help, swinging experiences, how to find folks online, STD/safer sex info, national swinging events lists, relationship issues, and more. When I first heard of Darling House, I thought of that Dirty Sexy Money show immediately, because of the name "darling". Darling is such an evocative name. Joshua Darling, founder of DarlingHouse.net, describes it as "... a Salon that curates and features the gap between artists on the fringe, erotica, sometimes pornography and mainstream cultural appreciations like movies, theatre, and dance." There are several regular contributors to the content at Darlinghouse: the erotic food & fetish poetry of Natasha Gornik, moody video clips by JM Darling, the ongoing fetish serial of BastardKeith (currently on chapter 7), the startlingly frank photoblog of Sovereign Skye, to mention a few. The website is still calling itself a beta version, so I am guessing changes are on the horizon. In the meantime, there is a feast of words and visuals arranged pinterest-style on the front page, with navigation off to each individual contributor blog. There are themes each month, things like "authenticity" and "consent" explored in the blogs and pictorials. DarlingHouse is expanding into the "real" world as well, with their first event coming December 3rd in Brooklyn, a night of burlesque, music, etc. Info at the site.

I reviewed this place back in 2005, and it has only gotten better! This site turned me on and got me off, and I think that is the biggest praise I can give an erotic site! Three pillows is essentially a member site based around bisexual content, and it specifically targets Male-Male-Female interaction. This content is far more rare than I'd like it to be! The site is Bi-owned and operated, and the folks behind the website are very active in soliciting member opinions and responding to requests. There are a ton of pictures (now well over 300,000), and each pic is available in two size formats. Pics are sorted between solo males, M/M and Bi, M/F, FF and bi, solo females, Transsexuals, F/F/M, and M/M/F. There are many groups shots and other types of photos, however. Exclusive stuff is always labeled! In addition to all the pics there are over 1,000 streaming and downloadable movies of hardcore action ranging from short clips to full length movies. The movie content is divided between the original content (available in wmv and mpeg), and the 4 supplemental full length bisexual movies a month by DVD Masters (available in wmv and silverlight). There is also an interesting "Sex Ed" section of movies, that offers quite a few short videos on topics such as hymens and how to give a great blowjob. For those more inclined towards words, there is an erotica section with a ton of stories geared towards the Three Pillows audience which are all sorted and given story description codes so you can find what you want fast. All stories are printable, and there are hundreds! There are also pictorial stories that merge written and visual content, and if you just have to hear something sexy you can head over to the audio section which offers lots of RealMedia and MP3 sound clips. For those with an artistic spirit, there are erotic art pieces, original bi-comics, and poetry also. There is just so much here including links to chat rooms, personal ad access, shockwave games, affiliate store, fun columns, various boards (including one in which members share their fantasies), and such that I just can't list it all. Customer service is superb and cancellation info is super easy to find. Impressive, hot, and an established site that keeps getting better! Dark Gracie describes herself as, "...[A]n acclaimed photographer, sex author, and deviant extraordinaire, who first began writing erotica in 2005." You can find her work at places like Fleshbot and PopSyndicate, and she is also published in Erotic Diaries. This site largely consists of journal posts that read like erotic stories. I was struck by how often they had elements of technology involved in the plot, such as sexting or sending each other audio files. I liked that! Most of the content was fairly heterosexual, but she is definitely attracted to women as well. Here is a sample of her writing style: "I love being on top. I come intensely when I am riding a cock. There is a slight problem with me in this position…I can get very violent and I have punched my own husband in the face Californication style, except I punch better and harder than that girl on the show." The stories here are super hot, but some of the essays advocate unsafe sex practices (without any sort of caveat). I was a bit disappointed at that. Other than that, the site is hot as heck! - Vamp

Manuela Lollenbeck is a talented sculptor and mold maker that has written a book to help folks learn how to create safe and amazingly beautiful genital castings. The book has 16 chapters, 10,000 words, 81 color photos, and 11 diagrams. It details what to buy, how much to buy, and where to buy it from. You can purchase the material as an ebook pdf file from the author, or you can buy a paperback version through Amazon. I was impressed enough by the author's description of the home art project that I plan on purchasing this book as a gift to myself. The site is extremely body positive and woman loving, and there is a gallery of finished pieces to look over. There is also a vulva blog in which women can simply share their own beauty directly. I recently reviewed Kelsey Obsession's professional fetish site, and was very impressed by the original and daring content. I'm even more impressed by this site, which is a blog about human sexuality! Kelsey describes herself as a sexual educator with a Masters Degree, although I'm not sure what sort she holds or from where. She reports that she used to teach college classes on sex and gender, and I wish that I knew more about that. Her blog is full of sex tips, news, and reviews. My favorite bits? She does video blogs that feel very sincere, raw, and intelligent. I also love the short essays that explained why she shoots that fetish material that she does, and describes the appeal of things like fart fetish. That is just wonderful! The links to websites, toys, and movies are not that inspiring. The personal information and experiences discussed here are solid gold. She links to her clips4sale site that has videos that teach folks how to get past guilt and shame, have joyful anal sex, and more. I noticed that the videos had short descriptions and run times listed, as well as clear pricing. I'm not sure that I can vouch for the educational credentials presented here, but I think that the emotional content that is shared has great value. Excellent site! - Vamp

This blog had me at the title. I don't know who is writing this, as there is little information about the author. I do know that I like the stuff being posted here. You'll find journal entries about things to discuss before having sex, creating a more "lover friendly" space in your home, flirting with geeks, understanding jealousy, and how to deal with a partner that keeps changing their mind. The blog doesn't have a lot of content, but the content that it does have is pretty fun and solid. I really love that if it discusses concepts from a book, it cites the book at the end of the entry. The web store section of this site has some problems, but everything else here is wonderful! Scottie Lowe has put together a really positive pansexual site that (in her words) is meant to, "...[P]rovide people of African descent a place to escape the narrow-minded, stereotypical, limiting and oft-times degrading beliefs that abound about our sexuality." At the time I visited there were 61 well written bits of erotica, and 7 sexy podcasts. The messages on this site are healthy and responsible. An example? "The foundation of every strong relationship is honesty, sharing, caring, and a willingness to be your most vulnerable self with your partner." The podcast that I listened to had some wonderful and sexy stories told in a very sensual voice. There is a small ecards section, and a personals section as well. The personals section has terms of service posted, including privacy info. The store section has lingerie, toys, and other adult items for sale. Unfortunately, the customer service and contact info for the shop is completely absent. I couldn't find anything about shipping or returns, for example. Contact seemed to be limited to a form only. I'd love to come back here and give them a quality rating (or higher) if the store is tweaked. A nice start to a site with a positive and awesome mission! - Vamp

A sex toy store with the stated values of being sex positive, body positive, eco-sexual (environmentally friendlier), socially aware, into community activism, local-first in their purchasing habits, and actively celebrating all sexualities, genders, and forms of gender expression? Fuck yeah! You won't find irresponsible crap like desensitizing anal lubes or toxic chemicals here. They have a long list of what they WON'T stock, and that includes things like: phthalates, amines, ceteareth-6, mineral oil, parabens, petrochemicals, petrolatum, popylene glycol, synthetic fragrances, sulfates, and ureas. So, what do they stock? This Portland, Oregon based store has a lot of the old favorites such Hitachi, Tantus, Lelo, and Oh Mi Bod. They also have some really stunning stuff like the Jackboot paddle from Icon Brands (which is a paddle that has the sole of a boot on the impact surface), leather ropes that look like vines of roses, artistic and fun crops (such as skull and crossbones), and gorgeous plugs and paddles made of glass and decorative crystals! You'll also find interesting stuff like vulva puppets, dramatic makeup kits, edible jawbreaker ball gags, cyborg fleshlights, and more! They are fairly good about listing measurements and materials, including the measurement of the "active" part of the toy (as well as the "passive"). The gender expression section made me very happy, as it used respectful language and offered a wide range of practical products like dilators, breast forms, and binders. The DVD section has everything from hardcore smut to sexual documentaries, and lists work from companies that I personally have a very high opinion of in general. It is easy to work your way through the products, and you can even select categories such as "Directed by Women". The events section has ticket sales to educational workshops, and at the time I visited that included a participatory class on kissing. The toy care section is a very thorough and accurate guide to how to care for different types of toys, and I'd give it a Vamp's pick for this part alone. The site also uses an icon system to help give fast information about toys. This info includes whether the toy is made in the USA, made in the Pacific Northwest, vegan friendly, submersible in water, a winner at the Feminist Porn Awards, and more! I loved this quick visual system! Shipping, returns, contact, and privacy info is all easy to locate and clear. Hours of operation are listed, and so is an estimate for response time on emails. I loved the fact that you will not be added to unsolicited email newsletters or anything here, which is an unfortunate rarity. This store is still building an inventory and a style, but I am loving what I see so far. The mission style of this place is beautiful, and would be a good guide for this industry as well as a pretty good template for a better world in general. Jilly is a young woman from Belgium that writes a sexual blog with a very raw and tender voice. She self-describes as a virgin and talks about everything from fantasies to body issues, and comes across as someone who struggles and explores these things with a passion. Jilly is also an author of erotica/romance and has a couple of short fiction pieces about a character named Graham Conner (and the lovers he has had through the years), 8 stories inspired by the piano player/song writer Tim Minchin, and 27 short erotic tales. When I visited, the "Little Stories" section was unfortunately broken. So, I can't tell you the character of the pieces there. I'm sure the author will fix that soon, but right now I can only say that they are arranged by name and do not have blurbs or keywords. The rest of the erotica was unusual in that it focused on the relationships between characters while simultaneously avoiding most overt sexual expressions. I found that fascinating! This is a blog by Master Michael Samadhi and his slave/wife Serafina. It is still relatively young, but I felt that the level of conversation and original pictures really warranted a review. The couple enjoys Tantra and BDSM, and they definitely communicate about their lives in a very real (and sometimes quite raw and vulnerable) way. They have BDSM and kink articles about things like Darlex and Hepatitis. Michael shares assignments that he has written for his partner. The review section is a breath of fresh air, since it deals with things like collars and EMT scissors. I didn't see any standard "sex toy" reviews, but loved reading over scene music recommendations and experiences with hemp rope suppliers. Here is a sample of the sort of thing you'll read from Michael: "If a slave is somebody who has been totally devalued, I'd not want to command them, I'd want to shelter and protect them until they felt valued and human. Bebe St. Croix self-describes as a "sex coach" and offers advice about sex to those that write to her. This blog style advice/erotica site features articles on how women may be more sexy to men, how to give oral sex to a man, why men like mail order brides, and such. There are also a few pieces of erotic fiction about a character named "Victoria". The stories are of medium length and fit well within the idea of mainstream erotica. They are definitely worth a read! The advice and sex coaching services? Well, there is no information given about Ms. St. Croix's education or background as a coach. So, I find the whole idea highly suspect. The advice doled out on the site is often the propagation of hegemonic heterosexual roles as often spoon fed to us in western media. Wear the highest heels? Grow your hair long? Be submissive? Remember to swallow? All men want oral sex? This advice is sometimes dangerous (as in the case of promoting unsafe sexual practices), and is at best not particularly educational. Please understand that all of these types of sexual expression and preference are valid to think/feel/pursue in consensual relationships, but promoting them as educational materials distributed by a professional is not acceptable. An example? Even a paraprofessional counselor should be able to understand what is problematic about telling people that an intrinsic part of a person's gender identity is the acceptance of a certain type of sexual act. This site is still pretty young, but it looks promising! It is a webzine written by Katie, who is a self-described queer woman from the UK. She says that she started the site out of, "...[A] desire for more blogs based in the UK, discussing sexual politics and reviewing toys and events for 'grown-ups' which can be found on our fair isles, such that we don’t need to sell our limbs to pay for the shipping costs or air fares." The site discusses politics, gender, identity issues (including body image), and kink. There is a nifty DIY (do it yourself) kink area that explains how to make your own rubber flogger from bicycle inner tubes, and I'll enjoy seeing more projects added here in the future. There is also a review section that currently has a couple of toy, event, and movie reviews.
