Rae is a sweet, saucy, talented, and charming artist! That said, I think that I may be the only one here that could have reviewed her site. Why? I have been on extended leave, and I had no idea who was responsible for the 10th Anniversary redesign of Jane's Guide. So, it was with an unbiased eye that I began reading Rae's blog and learning about the pansexual kinky 20something. She writes in a tone that is both intelligent and blatantly sexual, and seems to strive to show how feminism and pornography are both undergoing a revolution. She is also funny as hell! Imagine my shock when I realized that in addition to this, she also was responsible for our cool redesign. At this website you can check out her blog, and you can also see her web design portfolio. Ok, what's not to love about the slogan "Bringing Your Tax Liability to It's Knees"? Mistress Lori the Tax Domme is a tax preparer for both U.S. and Canadian taxes that specializes in the adult entertainment business. I know how difficult it can be to "out yourself" to your CPA when it comes to this situation, after all I've run an adult business for 10 years. When things got too complicated to do it myself, I was totally worried about where to go. I needed a Mistress Lori back then! Anyhow, the website has all the relevant info: a page with her experience in the field, contact info, what information you'll need to provide her with and so on. This very well done site is the personal website of Vancouver, B.C., photographer James Patrick. He offers galleries of high quality nudes - some teasing, some jilling, some girl/girl - for sale to webmasters. Every gallery I sampled was of high quality both pleasing to the eye and of good professional quality. Details of the licensing are quite clearly stated, as are the arrangements for royalty payments for the models. The legal '2257' documentation is explained at some length, offering protection to both webmasters and to models. Each model has from one to several galleries offered, and a sample slide show of several representative images are offered along with numbers, descriptions, and fees per gallery. Fees vary with the size of the gallery. Shopping is then via secure shopping cart, and delivery is either via passworded download or [for a nominal fee] via CDROM. Roberto Segate's horror inspired digital photography and fetish artwork has been featured in such books as "Erotique Digitale: The Art of Erotic Digital Photography". His grunge covered images of nude women in situations that seem both erotic and nightmarish show some of the things that are possible when someone has a very fine command of photoshop and a good imagination. Rather than simply showcasing and selling his limited edition fine art, he goes one step further and sells original photoshop tutorials and disks of photoshop art files for others who are learning how to express themselves in this medium. He also has some free downloads such as wallpapers and photoshop brushes. This site was really a step above many artist sites, in that it gave very clear instructions on how to order the prints and see more of the artist's work. I sure wish more folks would learn how to do that! A great gothic/horror artist who seems to have a gift and interest in the area of teaching. Ray West offers a TON of good information in a difficult to read and occasionally repetitive format. Many of his ideas boil down to basic common sense plus a short college-level course in marketing. That said, $79.00 is a low price for a course in business if you have not been exposed to this information before! Some of his claims seem a bit unbelievable, such as strippers giving him their home phone numbers in exchange for his card saying he is making a film. I don’t know many who are that trusting, really. His ideas are sound and the foundation of his business plan is a decent one. This is almost undone by his absolutely appalling grammar and spelling. He appears entirely unable to differentiate between “your� and “you’re,� for example. An editor would have been a boon to this publication. Really, the true value of this product is his marketing advice. It is equally sound for selling adult movies or ceramic flower pots, but it is solid advice. He is realistic with his expectations, and asks that you be both professional and patient. In addition, he gives some practical information about model releases. There is little information about actually filming an adult movie, and the camera advice runs towards “rent something cheap.� The most valuable aspect of this publication is the contact information. Assuming that it is up to date and accurate, the lists of contacts alone are well worth the price of the text. There are lists of distributors, duplicating services, vendors, and more. It is truly an exhaustive list! Is it worth the money over all? That is up to you to decide. If you are looking to make and market adult films, it might be. I don't understand why there are shipping and handling charges on what is, essentially, an e-book, but be aware that the charge is there.
