4 Hour Hard On
This blog has quite the eclectic mix of erotica, poetry, interviews and journal entries. In my short visit, I read some truly disturbing non-erotic fiction ("Caesaren, by Leigh Hughes), a couple of poems, an erotic flash fiction piece and a reprint of a John Lennon interview. The editor here says they are host to an annual erotic flash fiction contest, but it would be helpful if the blog had an archive of posts by category so such info could be easily found. At any rate, an interesting mix of topics.

Art of Love
Hans Frontosa has put together a really interesting and engaging site on erotic art that tantalizes the reader without overloading them. Too often, people become intimidated when discussing fine art. Hans avoids pretension and delivers very personal and down to earth descriptions of various artist's work, and he puts well established fine art (like nude photography) right next to lesser appreciated artforms like erotic video games. He also has a links section that is a great leaping off point for surfers. Recommended. I know I'll be back! I found the site both erotic and educational. - Vamp » More Info!

Nightcharm
This site is a perfect example that it is indeed possible to do a hardcore site in a fun, quirky, I'd even go so far as to say "tasteful" way. Nightcharm is a gay male site that appeals to a broader audience. It was time for a re-review, because since it's inception a couple years ago, it's grown immensely. The original was a free zine - and that still exists, there is free content in spades. Free galleries of the softer stuff, amateur spreads with bios and email links, plus the glossier pro shots. In features you'll find such things as behind-the-scenes peeks at the porn industry, a tribute to Dusty Springfield, and other book and movie reviews. Art&Spirit is a series of articles exploring gay male tantra. In Favorites, don't miss the Gloryhole Fever section - a peek into the practice, with spicy reader confessions. The very new Inner Circle (4 months old at time of this writing) has much more extensive eye candy, and lots more words too. From original photo layouts of Seattle men, shot by webmaster David K, to a look back at 70's and 80's porn (wow, check out the tube socks! soooo 70's.) there's something for everyone. You can also voy on the CorkyCam, an Arizona exhibitionist (and star of some Titan Porn vids), and wander through an illustrated history of sexually explicit art/drawings. The great design remains consistent throughout the member area, a nice perk when not everyone pays that much attention to detail. The payment options for the Inner Circle are numerous - instant credit card access for $9.95/week recurring or $19.95/month recurring - or payment by online check. Also, a PayPal option which is $16.95/month NON recurring.

Hoot Island
Hoot Island's tag line is "silly sex for silly people" and the wonderful Chris Bridges has delivered on that for as long as JanesGuide has been online, so it was about time to write up a re-review. Unfortunately, yet understandably, the photo section is pulled because of the new 2257 laws, but MOST of the content was never about photos so we'll live. The "words" section (type dirty to me) has such fun things as the "victorian sex cry generator" for the next time you need something unique to yell out mid-coitus. You'll find a plethora of funny articles, from "101 Reasons to Masturbate" to "Make Mine Vanilla" (a guide to Missionary position sex). You'll find tons of essays, original erotic fiction with a funny twist, and don't forget to check out the "goofy shit" section.

Tara Tainton, erotica writer
It is not often that I am caught off guard by the disclaimer section of a web page. My first introduction to Tara was on the splash screen, and it did just that! The agreements are phrased in the positive, not the negative, and set the tone for what is to follow. This e-zine is divided into (admittedly annoyingly alliteratively addressed) sections, including a blog of Tara’s current thoughts and activities, advice to writers and readers, and many, many links to other web sites to purchase related materials. It is advertising heavy in that sense, but somehow it all seems to work together. There are a few photos, a little bit of her writing, and a lot of Tara’s opinions about life, freedom, and expression. The whole is liberally sprinkled with quotations from Anais Nin, Susie Bright, and other masters in the field of erotica. This reads like a magazine, a sampler of what is available. It is well written and well put together all around, and very enjoyable.

The Sex Herald
This is a slick e-zine! It is true that some of the articles are bland, heterofocused, or do not contain substantially new information. However, most are informative, interesting, and diverse. It is not perfect, but the format is clear, the layout intuitive, and the content extensive! I especially liked the purity tests and the aphrodisiac soup recipes. The advice column is rather insipid, but that is balanced by the well written and insightful reviews of books, movies, and products. One thing I did notice was that even when giving a rating like 2 stars (out of 5), the reviews emphasize the positive aspects of the product, toning down the negatives. Most products have a link to a web site for purchase, but it seems to simply be a referral rather than an integral part of the Sex Herald. They do have a small product area of their own - mostly T-shirts and the like. The direct-order items are secure. There is far more to read here than one could devour in a single sitting, and I highly recommend it as a source of information and entertainment.

Figleaf's Real Adult Sex
I think I have spent a good couple of hours perusing this site. If you are searching for a quick sexual arousal fix, look elsewhere. This site is chockful of many complex, varied, and interesting commentaries on sexuality, relationships, philosophy and so on and so forth. And despite all the amazing stuff I read, what do I remember most? A very complete and amusing journal entry on how to make a mold of an erect penis. It's quite a process! I also loved the post from Alyssa De Jour on penis size. Figleaf does a phenomenal job of finding, reviewing and giving his perspective on really excellent material. Of course he also provides links to other great personal sites and blogs. There are a few photos of the author in a kilt- which I might add are not too shabby!

ZNights
This is a great alternative lifestyles community site for South Africa (and a few other surrounding places). You can sign up for free to take a look around, but full access to all site features requires a subscription. You can create a profile, post photo albums, create a blog, write classified ads, chat online with other folks, or search profiles for specific interests. In addition to this, you'll find there are quite a few galleries of erotic photographs and artwork that are available to subscribers. It appears that the site is very pansexual, so no matter what your gender or preference you'll find a category that suits you. A neat community calendar keeps you abreast of local events as well. Well put together, sex positive, and a neat resource! Great little educational essays as well.

99 Erotic Notions
This has to be one of the more unusual serial erotic fiction offerings that I've come across. The author, Hapax Legomenon, is launching a writing project that will end around 2012! Each month a story is added, although not always in sequence. The basic story arch involves a young man writing about erotic fantasies to a woman named Lisa. He and Lisa are not involved, but she is reading his fantasies due to a deal that they struck one day after having an argument about privacy and fantasy. The stories tend to be cerebral stand alone meditations upon the erotic, or silly vignettes. They are not explicit in the least. I think that these stories will be most popular with those who enjoy literary titillation served up with intellectual debate. Some female authors are beginning to answer his writing by crafting stories from the perspective of Lisa. These pieces are under "Unbuttoned Tales", and are a special treat! Even if the stories aren't your thing, I believe you'd enjoy the thought provoking essay "Pleasure Manifesto" which is found at the bottom of the list of 99 erotic notions. » More Info!

Beyond You and Me
This is one of those really wonderful links that I get particularly excited to share with all of you! The author W.S Cross describes it as a "Novel-in-blogress", and that is pretty accurate. It is essentially a serial novel written about the innocent Cassie DeMarco and her adventures during the Sexual Revolution in the Yale Library. We watch as she develops from young devoted wife to conflicted but enthusiastic explorer in the sexual labyrinth of the time. She confronts complicated philosophical issues, but still manages to be involved in an engaging romance and lots of steamy sex. The novel is supposedly based upon a real journal that was shared with the author, and it is punctuated with original fine art nude photography that you can purchase prints of through a store linked to the site. If you are a fan of novels like Wuthering Heights, you'll find this writing interesting...as the author obviously has been influenced by many classical pieces and enjoys referencing them. The links available here are a virtual library of classic literary erotica, so be sure to check them out as well. An interesting, rich, visually interesting, and often quite steamy read. » More Info!

Vraimenterotique
If you've been looking for a more mild form of erotic writing, Richard Raiment's work might just fit the bill! In his own words the stories he writes are motivated by, "Plot, characters you will care about, colour, surprises and warmth." You won't find any, "Rape, participation of minors, animals or any of the other 'no-no's'." There are about a half dozen original pieces here, complete with artwork by the writer. There are also around a half dozen stories by others (laid out in a webzine format). Original artwork, audio clips, and links to other sites featuring his writing are also available. » More Info!

Hot Sexy Words.com
I love this new form of publication that the net has fostered. In this free site you have free sample chapters of erotica from several authors, with the option to then purchase for download the entire piece. Within a chapter or two you'll know if the author is going to twang your twinger, and if you'll want to read more. The downloads are quite inexpensive and vary, according to the story from short stories to full novels, and purchase is via PayPal. Please encourage these authors by buying their work! They started writing smut because they're all in a band together and wanted to raise money for the band. It's so much a better thing than subscribing to a wanking stories pay site and reading the rehashed drivel they recycle. » More Info!

3XL: Lust, Love & Latex
3xL is a latex fetishist from Copenhagen who has put together a really well organized and informative webzine covering latex fetishism, fashion, news, and culture. There are also a nice selection of articles written from a place of personal experience such as "Help, my partner has a fetish" and "To tell... or not to tell". You can see quite a few free picture galleries here, but they do require a password (that is free to folks that register with the site). If you follow the movie link you'll find pay-per-minute, downloadable, and streaming latex fetishist rentals. This is an excellent resource for those looking for info on the latest in latex fashion and culture. » More Info!

Blue Food
This is a great webzine, which has been free for some time but is constructing a member's area soon. The material ranges widely with interviews, diaries, cartoons, stories, fiction, and galleries of photographers & illustrators. Content is all original work of the submitting artists. Many of the contributors are well known within erotica circles, but as well the site solicits submissions from known or unknown fellow "starving hedonists". They update monthly - and judging by the current issue, updates are healthy - and downloads of the prior three years of issues are available for fee download. I thought it was worth a visit just for their exclusive cartoon, "Rugburn" alone, but enjoyed the rest as well. » More Info!

Freddy and Eddy
Since the start of this site back in mid-1997, Jim and I have wanted to offer more reviews of things: books, toys, DVDs... and we've dabbled here and there in just that. Now, though, I'm happy to point you to Freddy and Eddy as a great source for just that. The very couples- focused site has sex and relationship articles, the reviews we mentioned above of DVDs, sextoys and so on, discussion boards and other great info. It's friendly, accessible, nicely designed and free for the browsing, so go check it out and add it to your bookmarks. :) » More Info!

Words of Seduction
This wonderful site is for the romantically intended, those who love and wish to send a song of words or images to their beloved, but who don't have the gift. Offered here is a large collection of wonderful art images from the whimsical to the baser instincts, from an assortment of artists, and as well are customizeable words in various presentations. Easiest of course are the cards, a quick drawing and a sentiment of romance, or the regret of missing a loved one, or the more sexually charged message, assembled and sent electronically. More in depth are entire vignettes ranging from casual to explicit, and customizeable with your names, your details, which you can download and personalize prior to use. There is also a poetry assortment, and also submissions in the various formats are invited from site members. This is a marvelous tool for those many of us who have music in our hearts but who can't master the lyrics ourselves. Presentation of the entire site is just as beautifully conceived and displayed as the content of the writings and art is. A very worthy addition to the adult web.

Cake
As CAKE would have it, they are "the first company to create a brand for young, heterosexual women that represents a contemporary female sexual lifestyle." Translated that means that they have created an online magazine that targets young het women and intellectually approaches their sexuality a bit more directly than the mainstream newstand magazines. I checked out the feature section, and the current article on the AVN awards is pretty darn cool! It has video clips of some of the stars doing interviews that you just shouldn't miss. It has some other articles and political info that center around "women's issues" and sexuality too. I could feel my ovaries throbbin', I tell ya. Aside from the articles, there is a free section with stories that readers have sent in, and it appears some of the readers can write a hot story. They sell CAKE cards on the site for $50 that are supposed to get you into future exclusive CAKE parties in NY, but I don't know what they do for you at the moment other than make you eligible for "special promotions". Melinda Gallagher's writing seems to drive the site. It is definitely worth a visit when you are in the mood to celebrate your womanhood by listening to interviews or articles about RU-486. I was kinda hoping the "next generation of erotic entertainment for women" would include more nude people. I guess I'm a pig. oink. Great interviews though, don't miss em! They have some nice party pictures too. » More Info!

Good SexKeeping
Totally new online 'zine of sex/relationship advice for women. There were several articles in this issue, as well as a poll for your top ten fantasies, and an erotic story. I found some of the advice sort of outdated. For example: the article in sex files about the "secret" of male masturbation. It came from a viewpoint of "young women" not realizing that their partners masturbate. Ok, maybe a decade or two ago, but are women really as out-of-touch as these articles would have me believe? The design is fine, the advertising content is light, in all it's a nice little zine - even if it didn't speak to me. » More Info!
