The following are laws in the state of Kansas that we feel restrict the act of sex. These are victimless acts that are criminalized by someone trying to legislate their own morality. Some of these laws are rarely applied but as long as they are on the books they can be used to persecute people. If you live in Kansas ask your state legislators to change these laws.
It is a class B misdemeanor to have sex with "...members of the same sex..."
It is a Class C Misdemeanor to have sex with a married person who is not your spouse or to have sex with someone not your spouse while married.
Lewd and Lascivious Behavior:
"Publicly engaging in otherwise lawful sexual intercourse or sodomy with knowledge or reasonable anticipation that the participants are being viewed by others..." is a Class b misdemeanor.
Committing a sex act for money is a Class B misdemeanor.
"... is a class A person misdemeanor when the prostitute is 16 or more years of age."
Patronizing a Prostitute:
Patronizing a prostitute is a class C misdemeanor.
"Any real property used as a place where any such activities are carried on or permitted to be carried on..." can be "...be closed and padlocked for a period of not more than two years..." and "...and any effects, equipment, paraphernalia, fixtures, appliances, musical instruments..." can be "...be publicly destroyed by the sheriff..."
