MauiBDSM is pansexual support and education group for people interested in learning about BDSM. They offer a munch once monthly, open to anyone - as the site states, all you have to do is show up (location is on the site). If you want to become further involved, you need to meet with at least two members of the community and go through a sort of screening process to start being invited to the parties and educational events, which seem to be loosely organized a month or two in advance. Also at the site are some articles written by community members, and a forum which appears to be very quiet. Looking through past events, they have had some good topics/presenters, so hopefully they're still going strong.
It's somewhat disconcerting to open this site to a large image of platform patent boots on sandy beach, just because of the juxtaposition of those images. I'm used to bare feet on sand, but it was a striking image, as (I'm sure) intended. Lady Katija offers pro sessions at her facility in Maui, including extended vacation offerings. Her sessions page offers quite clear info on likes and dislikes, and her bio page offers not only client testimonials, but a long list of workshops and seminars she's attended to further her own education in BDSM arts. You won't find much in the way of photos of Lady Katija, but there are some photos of her dungeon space. No rates were listed, but contact info was spelled out to start a conversation/negotiation.
This is probably the best site I've encountered for tantra in Maui, in that they actually offer far more information online than other sites I've visited. Sasha Lessin, Ph.D and Janet Kira Lessin are the two main teachers, and in addition to tantra you will find a very strong polyamory thread in their offerings. The site has tons of articles on tantra and poly, info on books by the couple, and simply a huge event calendar. You'll find events for every level and level of interest, from just evening events to fullblown certification programs. Very informative, if at times clunky (navigation-wise) this is a great informational starting point online for tantra/poly in Maui.
Part of a network of sites, Embodied Spirituality offers weekend tantric workshops in Maui. The site doesn't have much information in terms of prices or schedules, it's pretty much "write and ask". Still, towards the top if you click on the "Maui Retreat" site, you'll find a much better fleshed-out informational site on the retreat site, which offers accommodations and weddings apart from the tantric courses.
Tantric Yoga was founded by Charles Muir in 1978, when after years of practicing yoga, he found the celibacy aspect of the practice to be inappropriate for many of his students. The website has a national directory of CTEs (Certified Tantra Educators) both of those practicing, and of those certified but not teaching. The events page lists workshops around the country by Muir, but as far as the events in Kahului, the "ultimate weekend" section provided no info, only a form to fill out to receive info. It looks as though weekend introductory courses are available for both singles and couples, and vacation seminars are available for couples only.
Sacred Loving's website features writing, dvd's and classes by Niyaso Carter, a workshop facilitator and counselor with 18 years experience in teaching sacred sexuality. In Maui, they offer weekend retreat courses, individual instruction and tantra coaching vacation packages. The website's store offers Niyaso Carter's instructional DVD 'The Secrets of Sacred Sex', as well as an audio series. Both are via Paypal. Contact is via telephone or email.
Treasures of Love appears to be a retreat center in Maui, although I never could quite figure out if they offer actual accommodations, or if it's just day services sort of like a spa. The site offers articles written by Adrianna Grace, which I actually found more accessible (less new-agey-speak) than many tantra sites. There is a section with various tantra class offerings, and a section devoted to services offered for retreat guests (again, can you stay there?) Contact is via telephone or email to find out more.
This center has two locations: Paia, Maui and Boulder, Colorado. The educators offer both group courses and individual coaching. As of this writing, the upcoming events schedule was for Friday evening salons, but you can read about all of the various events that are offered in the courses menu.
