This is a standard banner size, approximately 468x60. This position rotates your banner through all of our Regional Guide. Typically this pulls a smaller click thru ratio of between 1-5%, again dependent upon your advertisement, however these are a very targeted audience looking for face to face contact. Specific regions may have specific ads and URLs but you must buy the whole rotation.
Benefits of advertising at Jane's - Our advertising is a good value for many reasons. The biggest of these is that this is highly qualified traffic. We strongly suggest that you track signups from your ad as well as clicks. Because Jane's Guide reviews an equal amount of paysites and freesites, our readers are more qualified buyers. Put it this way: is a customer who bookmarks a link site of "only free sites" likely to pull out a credit card for a paysite, or just view the free preview? Now compare that to a reader of our site, who is interested in quality and value above other things.
Also, due to the rather strict guidelines on our advertising, you'll get higher quality traffic. We do not allow misleading advertising.. every ad is clearly labeled as such, so customers know before they go, that they are probably going to a good site. We do not encourage customers to sign up to "help us", or to try free trials and then cancel.. which is what so many webmasters do who use clickthru programs, in order to raise their payout. Because we charge by the impression, we have absolutely no motivation to inflate your clicks with unethical things like spamming, making false claims, or sending you blind traffic. This is an important factor when deciding between operating a clickhru or placing a paid in advance advertisement.
Banner Guidelines -

File size limit is 40k, although we strongly encourage you to make file sizes as low as possible.
We will optimize your advertisement at no cost to you, if you prefer.
Banners need to be in .jpg or .gif format.
Advertising Rules - We have fairly strict advertising guidelines, due to the unique consumer
focus of our site, and our own personal beliefs. We feel that these guidelines are important in keeping our
service valuable to both consumers and to advertisers. Rules you should be aware of include:
No misleading advertisements, including but not limited to: fake scrollbars, ads which appear
to be thumbnailed images, ads made to look like clickable text links, ads which are made to look like Windows functions or errors.
No false claims. If your ad states that something is "free", that needs to be a true statement. If it's a free trial
membership, it needs to say "free trial", not "free site".
Nudity is allowed, however all banners must comply with U.S.C. Title 18, sections and 2256 and 2257.
That means no gratuitous display of genitalia or sexual activity. Frontal nudity is OK, but no spread eagle
closeups, or copulation, or other simulated sex activity.
All sites who make any reference to teens must have a model release statement in the entry area that complies with
U.S.C. Title 18, sections and 2256 and 2257. Or some other reasonable assurance that they comply with the law in the U.S.
(That's where our machine is located).
We reserve the right to reject any advertiser, for any reason. If we find your terms and conditions of
membership to be misleading, we may reject your ad on that basis.
Reserving Space - Please contact us for current availability. When ad spaces do open up, it tends to be towards
the end the month. Advertising is billed from the 1st of the month through the 1st. If we have a spot open and you buy
mid-month we will pro-rate that month. You can contact us for availability by email at
firstname.lastname@example.org. A spot is not
guaranteed until we have seen & approved both your ad and your website.
Payment - Credit card payments: we currently invoice via PayPal if you choose to pay by credit card,
payment is due 5 days before ad start date.
Check or Money Order: If you choose to pay by check or money order, your payments will be due 5 days prior
to the start date of your ad. You will be invoiced mid-month for the following month, and if payment is not received
by 5 days prior to the renewal date, you may lose your ad position.
