Quickies
Wed Jul 18, 2007
I’ve thought about adding a category to the website called “Quickies”, that will be listings solely for those little one-page free picture sites. In recent years, the “free photo site” has become a dying breed… gone are the days of extensive free photo sites. I understand why, it’s definitely a combination of there being no money in it, and the increasing risk of providing content without having extensive documentation. I was looking through the latest info on 2257 regulations over at AVNOnline, and the hoops to jump through these days in publishing are getting way too extensive: enter the “free hosted gallery” pages that I speak of, where they are actually just provided by the paysites as promo tools.
So, I guess my question to readers is do you want listings of these free promo pages as they come available? I’ve been listing them randomly in the new listings section, I just thought it might be better to stick them all in their own section. I know you all aren’t that chatty these days, but if you get a chance, drop a comment and let me know what you think. Oh, I suppose I should show you an example of what I mean, just in case. Here’s a new one from M.U.S.E.org, that I particularly liked.

I like the idea, you should definitely do it!

Doesn’t seem to me like it’s a bad idea. Sure would give a prospective member a better idea of what’s inside…

I was “raised” on still pictures and they can capture sensuality and beauty that can be lost in a moving picture.

I vote yes. A little quickie never hurt anyone, unless that’s what they wanted.

Hi Jane,
Since I trust your ability to pick out the best of almost everything, I would agree that this is a good idea. Putting such pages in a separate section would clearly indicate that these pages are meant to be viewed whole and one at a time, and that they can be counted on not to produce the treacherous temptation to keep following embedded links deeper and deeper into a rabbit hole. :-)
