Back from a long weekend, spent in Canada with all 3 kids and a dog in tow. Elliott and I departed on Thursday evening, much later than we had planned. We ended up docking at the port of entry to Canada after midnight. The customs people there were great though, they took our info over the phone at that late hour and granted us entry. Much nicer than what we would experience a few days later, re-entering the U.S.
Anyhow, we towed our new little race boat with our bigger boat that we were using to live on. It’s becoming more and more rare, as the kids get older, to have all 3 of them want to come with us. We started out the trip in high spirits, although by the end of things we were all more than ready to be home.
Now that I’m back, it’s only for a couple of days. My mom just turned 60(!) over the weekend, so we had an impromptu birthday party with promises to take her on a vacation to the Oregon coast (her favorite) in September or October, when she has time and everything calms down a bit. I can’t believe my mother is 60. And my older sister Molly is turning 40 in a couple of months. It just doesn’t seem real to me somehow. I guess because I still feel like such a kid, despite the retirement accounts and college funds, mortgage and such. I just feel like I’m fumbling through things, not yet a grown-up even though I’m turning 38 at the end of the month.
Posted a bunch of new stuff. Wolfe is on top of the paysite reviews, thank goddess. And AAG is selflessly testing many new toys for us. heh. She’s altruistic that way. :) As I write this I’m in the midst of downloading a movie from LibidoFilms, which I’ve been wanting to check out for awhile. I don’t know how many of you are familiar with Libido, but they published an absolutely wonderful print magazine for many many years by the same name. As a matter of fact, my first ever nude photoshoot (with photog Lee Stranahan) resulted in a photo published in Libido way back in a 1997 issue. Or maybe it was 1998.
(ok, found it – it was this one, in Fall of 1997. wow, time flies)
Anyhow, I’m getting caught up a bit, but I have two more trips this month, both of them sailing related. Then the girls will start school again, I’ll start working on a schedule again, and I can tackle the many projects I want to get to around here.
It’s good to be back, even if it’s only for 2 days. :)
p.s. for Riff Raff (and the Mrs. – congrats!)
