back from the coast
Wed Oct 17, 2007
The last time I visited the Oregon coast was more than two decades ago, but I still remember it because the scenery was that pretty. This past few days, that’s where I’ve been. Elliott had to stay home, because there is just way too much going on right now. He’s a sort of multi-talented guy so he’s been wiring the electricity for our remodel in addition to everything else. Everything else includes running his own business. Which reminds me: anyone out there interested in a part (to possibly fulltime) job as a bookkeeper for Elliott? You have to know Quickbooks and be good on the phone, but that’s mostly it. I figured I’d post something here before he actually does a help-wanted, because he wants someone that is cool with what I do for a living. We share office space, so it’s just easier that way. You’d have to be in Bellingham, obviously, but if you are and you have the office skills, drop me a note.
Anyhow, back to the trip. Lots of driving, and I was the one who did it all. Molly offered from time to time, but honestly? A drive feels even longer to me if I’m the one just sitting there, so I’d rather drive. I almost went off the road when Elliott called to tell me what our tax bill was (yes, I pretty much always file an extension) and then spent the rest of the vacation hoping the IRS wouldn’t repossess my husband. :)
So: here are a few snapshots of scenery, taken along the way:
Still catching up, so more later…

I was looking for your email address when I saw your pictures – my lovely wife Lauren and I have been wanting to go to the Oregon coast for years now…oh, it looks nice. How was the food? Did you have any Dutch Brothers coffee?
I couldn’t find your email either – I just wanted to mention that I’ve gotten my shit together on IntimateArts.com – a new, easy gallery system with eCards and lots of prints for sale and two photo books through Lulu.com and another one coming with pictures of you in it. Anything you can do to spread the word beyond this comment is appreciated. Or email me. Or something. Regards!

Yay Oregon. I grew up in North Bend/Coosbay. It’s nice to see people enjoy the coast. Though I live in Corvallis now. Oregon is such a nice place to live, minus it’s poor job market.

Lee! hey, it’s always a pleasure to hear from you, and know that you are Lauren are still doing well. Re: the food, didn’t eat out much because my family isn’t all that into it. We cooked in the condo we rented instead. No Dutch Bros. coffee either, although I had a yummy mocha at a place called Green Salmon.
Conrad, you aren’t the Conrad of famous chocolate are you? Oregon is a gorgeous place, I wonder if it’s job market is as bad as where I live. Bham isn’t exactly a hotbed of job opportunity.
