Delight Vibe from Babeland

In the past year I have had the pleasure of trying out some beautifully-designed sex toys. I’d be hard-pressed to say which of those toys was the most beautiful one, but the Delight Vibrator from Fun Factory has to be near the top of the list.

It’s flipping gorgeous.

Packed inside a sedate box—no nekkid porn stars, squeeee!—is the vibe itself along with a storage case, sample lube and instructions.

Delight forms S-curve that looks like a seahorse. Firm yet flexible silicone makes up Delight’s business end, while the handle end is made from hard plastic. There’s a nice little bump in the silicone designed to line up against the clit. You can choose your vibe in turquoise and violet, deep rose and rose, or classic black and white.

One of the coolest things about Delight is that it charges inside its shiny black storage case. You simply rest the toy in the case, where metal contact points on the vibe touch matching points on the case. Plug the case into the wall, shut the lid and it charges up in a couple of hours.

Sitting on your counter, the box could pass for a random piece of electronics–a shaver, maybe? It’s very discreet. I wish that the case was just a hint larger so that I could store the charging cord inside the case, but that’s just me being super-picky.

Poorly designed control buttons on high-end vibes really bug me. Delight has no such problem. Its control button is located at the top of the handle, where it is well away from the body and does not interfere with how you’d naturally hold the toy.

Hold down the control button marked with a “+” and the vibe turns on to its lowest setting. The button also lights up, which is really convenient when you’re gettin’ busy in a darkened room. Continuing to press the “+” button ramps the speed up through eight increasingly intense levels of vibration. If at any point you bite off more than you can chew vibration-wise, press the “-” button and the intensity backs off.

When you reach the highest level of steady vibration, you can continue to press the “+” button and you’ll find several fun vibrating patterns, such as escalating and throbbing. Push the “-” again and you’ll go back to steady vibes; keep pressing this button and you’ll turn the vibe off. It’s a very slight disappointment that there’s not a one-push way to turn the vibe off, but that’s a pretty small complaint.

You absolutely must use lube with Delight. The vibe’s silicone end means that you’ll need a water-based lube. Only a bit will suffice, but if you skip this step it will be difficult to get the end of the vibe into the vagina. Silicone tends to feel a little “sticky” when dry, and because the end of the vibe is slightly flexible, you’ll have trouble getting the vibe situated if you go lube-less. Lube…got it?

I found the shape and intensity of Delight to be more than sufficient to get me off hard. It was comfortable in me (once I lubed it up; don’t forget the lube!) and I liked that it was nearly hands-free. Delight is not a vibe that can easily be used for thrusting. This will be a drawback for folks who liked to be fucked hard by their vibes.

Have I mentioned yet the quiet? Delight is wonderfully quiet. From arm’s length you hear a gentle buzz. From another room you don’t hear anything at all.

I really like the fact that Delight’s handle forms an open loop. When I was done coming (and dishrag-limp), I hooked the Delight on my pocket and headed to the bathroom to clean up. No extra muscles were needed! Cool!

Delight is about as close to perfection as one could hope for in a vibrator.
